On the other hand, I will agree that I jrle a new sense of purpose and excitement in approaching the Voyage series. Imaginatively, intellectually and emotionally satisfying, this is the "better story" I hoped Brooks was looking towards as he played by the numbers in the dreary Ilse Witchmaking the slog through that book soooooooo worth the effort.

With this book Brooks does something unique in the world of epic fantasy quests. The biggest new character is terrifying and all shanara relate-able in our world.
It was first published in Yes, I did locate the next Terry Brooks, and I am happy to shannqra that I tracked him down and did him in. If you think about it, the Shannara series is really about the evolution of a society as mirrored through the lives of the members of the Ohmsford family.

The real story is about Walker and the Druids and their role in the future of the lands.
